Complete Guitarist" Davey Graham |

Davey Graham hit the blossoming British folk scene like a bomb in the late 1950s. As a teenager he forged a unique approach to fingerpicking that owed as much to jazz pianists as to blues guitarists. His knowledge of the instrument and music in general was far beyond folkie norms it still would be today. Daveys approach to blues, jazz and traditional music inspired Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Martin Carthy and a whole generation of guitarists. His trailblazing experiments were a major inspiration for the British folk-rock scene. Daveys mid-1970s album, The Complete Guitarist, featured blues, jazz, Celtic tunes, classical pieces, hymns and some brilliant original instrumentals. Bonus tracks from his album Dance For Two People and the anthology Blues Guitar Workshop round out this overdue reissue. Track Listing (click for mp3 sample) |
